The One Where We Went to the Park

Several weeks ago Jason and I took Pepper to a local park. There’s a famous rocketship slide from when I was little and several birthday parties happened under those pavilions. They’ve since added some new equipment but the feel is still the same. 🙂

Needless to say, Pepper loved it. We tired her out pretty good!

I didn’t realize until we got to the park that Pepper has never really been down stairs before. It was hilarious to see her figure it all out and climb all the way to the top then back down again just for fun.

Nothing like watching a dog drink out a human cup. My sister still wants to buy pudding cups and feed her like Airbud. Can dogs eat pudding? 🙂

Oh, and she mastered the slide. 🙂 Happy puppy mama day!

Afterwards we had to get snowcones and cherry lime-aids. (My idea, obvi) And then, poor baby, we realized we left her very favorite ball at the park and had to turn around to get it. I felt so bad! But she didn’t care. Classic Pepper!

I just love this dog!

Our Beach Vacation… A Month Later (Part 3)

LAST ONE! 🙂

Isn’t it amazing how great the light can be at the beach about 6:00? Gosh, it’s really amazing. No shadows, perfect light off of the sand, and that sunset! GEEZ! I can’t even.

A GIANT storm rolled through our last afternoon there. It was being a little dramatic and faked us all out. But it sure was pretty…

IMG_6606IMG_6613

This great little plant shop called Clay. I could’ve stayed in there for hours… it was so amazing. Shady, light filled, so many things to fill a garden with. It made me all starry eyed! Too bad I can only keep cacti alive…

IMG_6532IMG_6499IMG_6513IMG_6491IMG_6486

Oh, and I cut my foot on a sneaky shell hidden in the sand! 🙁 Don’t worry, I lived.

IMG_6461

So here’s my amazing family. We are a basketcase. A lot of nut jobs. But we are family. And we love each other. Right? Right. 🙂 (Oh and in this picture we are missing about 10 people. Yeah, I know!)

We love you Grayton!

Our Beach Vacation… A Month Later (Part 2)

I hope you like reminiscing as much as I do because I’ve got another small mountain of beach pictures to share with you. Do you like living vicariously? Good. ;P

My mom has been following Justin Gaffrey since our first trip to Florida. We visited his gallery in Seaside and were enamored with his unique paintings. He uses a literal TON of paint every six months. It’s incredible! Check him out, please! My new bucket list item is to own one of his pieces. My mom’s birthday was coming up so we surprised her with a trip to his gallery in Blue Mountain and then surprised her again with a small piece of his work. 🙂 She cried. It was great.

IMG_6421IMG_6427I LOVE THIS SO MUCH.

Part three tomorrow… 🙂 Last one I swear!

Our Beach Vacation… A Month Later (Part 1)

DSC_6336

About a month ago my family and I took an amazing trip to Grayton Beach Florida. It was the best beach we could have been to. So relaxed, casual, and a bar right next door. That’s where I had the worst margarita of my life. :/ But the food was good! I took a load of pictures and have whittled them down to a small mountain to share with you. It was an amazing trip and I’m already ready to go back.

Oh! I love the beach. I remember my very first beach vacation. My dad’s side of the family rented a lime green house in Galveston, TX. There was a hot bed of mosquitoes right outside the front door. There was a cement screened in porch as soon as you walked in and 70s decor filled the house. I remember dark brown sand, jellyfish, and millions of games of Wahoo. I was convinced my cousin, Bailey, cheated but she swore against it. 🙂

Beaches have a special place in my heart. I want to visit all of them in my lifetime but I think Grayton is my favorite so far. 🙂 All along highway 30A is a slew of different little beach towns. There’s one for everyone!

Sigh… I miss it. 🙂

Part two tomorrow! 🙂

Outfit Outtakes: Derp Edition

Sometimes a girl just doesn’t look her best. It’s a real shame when those moments are caught on camera. The derpiness is in full force here guys, so don’t judge. I can’t believe I’ve kept all of these. 🙂 I’ve come up with clever names for each of these and by clever I mean incredibly stupid and stupid. Yes I said stupid twice because it is stupid. Enjoy!

PS. The titles are linked to the original posts where I don’t show my derp.

Trust me, there are plenty of bad ones to the good ones I post here. There are even more embarrassing ones to these… but I do have some dignity, thank you. I hope this brightened up your day and reminded you that there’s a little derp in all of us 🙂

Haul: Walgreens + ULTA

Hey-oh! A while back I hit up ULTA (if you’ve never been, go!) and bought a few things then a few days ago I spent my graduation money on some things in Walgreens! So here’s what I got along with my thoughts on some of them.

DSC_8449

-Wet N Wild eyeshadow trios in Knock On Wood and Silent Treatment ($3)
The pigmentation on these is amazing. I started getting hooked on Wet N Wild after Emily of Beauty Broadcast raved about them over and over. The texture is so velvety and soft and not at all flaky and cheap!
Here are some swatches:
Left is Knock On Wood and on the right is Silent Treatment.

eyeshadowNext up!
-Jordana eyeliners in Blue Devine and Mint ($2)
I own some of Jordana’s lip liners and they are excellent. Creamy and super pigments and long wearing. I have them in Sedona Red and Tawny, a nude color. These liners seem to be very similar and I can’t wait to try them more!
-NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk ($6)
I bought this after my younger sister bought it and I used it a little. 🙂 It’s a great base for eyeshadow. Be sure to pat off the excess though to prevent creasing.

Mascaras!
-Revlon Lash Potion ($5-8 depending where you buy)
I haven’t used either of these mascaras yet, but if I’m honest I bought this one solely on the packaging and name. 🙂
-Maybelline The Colossal Volum Express ($5-8 depending where you buy)
My younger sister has used this and likes it and I liked the brush so I’ll give it a go!

Revlon brush on the right and Maybelline’s on the left.

Lips!
-Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquers in Stellar, Nude Eclipse, and Apocaliptic
I.LOVE.THESE. It is literally like a melted lipstick. They are not sticky at all and even though they are very rich and opaque they are easy to apply without a mirror. Please try them if you get the chance! At $5 a piece you can’t go wrong!

L to R: Stellar, Apocaliptic, Nude Eclipse

lips

-Jordana lip liner in Baby Berry ($2)
Like I said about the eye liners, the creamy texture is easy to put on and the colors look good on all skin tones.
-Maybelline Baby Lips in Strike a Rose ($3)
These are basically a tinted lip balm. They are very moisturizing and come in a variety of colors. This color is from their new line with a neon yellow, neon green, and a very purple purple! Yikes! I’ll be trying them. 🙂
-Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake ($7)
These are a more sheer and moisturizing lipstick. They have a little shine to them and are super easy to apply. I also have one in Raspberry Pie!

L to R: Jordana lip liner, Revlon Lip Butter, Maybelline Baby Lips

Face!
-Rimmel Stay Matte Powder Foundation in Buff Beige ($5)
I stole this powder from my sister when she came home from college and loved it so much I bought my own! It’s great for topping off a foundation and keeping my skin matte most of the day.
-Burt’s Bees Cuticle Balm ($6)
I love the smell of this and can’t wait to use it!
-Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Wipes ($5)
I’ve tried a couple other facial wipes and they really messed my skin up. These have not! They won’t take off all of my makeup though, so keep that in mind. I like to use them for wiping off excess makeup or hand swatches or after a day at the beach.
-Yes To Cucumbers Sensitive Moisturizer ($15)
I LOVED this in the beginning. It doesn’t smell like cucumbers unless you push your nose right against it, hah. I don’t have the best luck with moisturizers, but this one worked pretty well!
-Studio 35 Beauty Blending Sponge ($5)
BUY THIS. I kept hearing about the Beauty Blender and how amazing it was but didn’t think it was anything better than a regular sponge. My sister bought this one and I’ve used it the past few days and can’t live without it. It blends the foundation in so much better than my fingers and the finish is so much more natural.
-Wigo Teasing Comb ($4)
This is great. It’s easy to use and I don’t feel like I’m raking hard on my hair when I use it.

So that’s it! There’s my haul! I hope you found some good things to try! I can’t wait to use these things more and let you know more information then.

Have a good day!
