cardi: F21, dress: F21, scarf: Walmart, jeans: Goodwill, boots: Goodwill, belt: thrifted

I tugged along my coat for class but it never served it’s purpose. It sadly sat next to me all day while I was warm enough in my cardigan. Sorry, coat.

Mondays are really kind of the worst, aren’t they? I mean there’s that giant hurricane hurling itself towards the east coast, Jason is out late playing ultimate frisbee, and I’m left home alone. Tired, hungry, and frustrated with taking care of the pets and house. When Jason finally gets home I realize how thankful I am for him and all he does with Pepper so I can relax. I’d make him dinner if I could 😉 I guess that’s what those five bags of candy are for!

Today marks the two-weeks-until date for my recital! Mom is picking up my dress Friday and we’ll start getting it cleaned and altered. I can’t wait to show you guys! 🙂

School Daze

sweater: Target, dress: AE, tights: Target, boots: F21

Last Thursday I got out and did a bunch of errands in town. I got new tags for the car, went to the bank, and voted! (I didn’t get a sticker though. 🙁 ) The auto department is downtown and I had a lot of time so I decided to get a little lost and ended up finding this old abandoned school and knew I wanted to come back and take pictures. It was freezing! And a little spooky looking inside and seeing empty chairs and rooms. By the way, I should add looking through dark glass doors to my irrational fears list.

Jason got off work several hours early Friday as a kind of reward for staying late the previous day for their fall carnival. So we headed out for a late lunch and drove around some more. I always find something new when I go downtown. Driving around for hours and taking pictures and experiencing that tiny downtown is on my to-do list before we high-tail it out of here. 😉

Having a good Monday? Don’t worry! The weekend will be here before you know it 🙂

I passed + a pretty dress

dress: Target, booties: F21, bracelet: Mom’s

I know I’ve exhausted Twitter and Facebook with the news, but it you haven’t heard I did pass my recital hearing yesterday! Thank you all so much for the well wishes and prayers. They really did help 🙂 I got some great feedback from my panel and am officially two weeks and five days away from my concert! I can’t wait to get all gussied up for it!

On to this dress. I saw it Sunday in Target on a trip with my mom and sisters. I really only have a couple of “dressy” dresses for things like this so I kind of used my hearing as an excuse to buy it. I got loads of compliments and it really it super comfortable. The colors are pretty awesome. As one girl put it, “It looks like a peacock!” Yes, yes it does! The only thing it’s missing is pockets.

Now that my hearing is done I think I deserve some moscato, huh?

Best thrifted thing ever.

tee: Target (similar), oxfords: Target, skirt: Salvation Army (similar here)

If I could meet the person that made this skirt I’d at least hug them. The more I look at it, it seems to be homemade. Seams are all intact and it’s super comfy so I’m happy. Also the $6 price tag didn’t hurt.

My recital hearing is tomorrow at 1:00 pm. Eeek! Everything is memorized and I’m feeling confident. Since I’ve got the day off I’m going to spend it mentally preparing and running through my songs one last time. Once this hearing is over I will relax a little and start to have fun. I can’t wait to show you guys my recital dress!

Mono

tee: Old Navy, jeans: Target, shoes: Target, scarf: Wal-Mart (I know, right?!)

My mom took this and was showing off her composition skills in the last picture, haha!

Wore this to my sister’s choir concert last night. Best. Ever. It was a girls’ night since my dad and Jason were working. We ate, laughed, and talked for a few hours after her concert and it was wonderful. I love hanging out with them. They’re probably the best family on the planet.

Yesterday I sang on my last ever student recital! Next semester I’ll have no voice lessons or anything having to do with voice lessons. 🙂 Can’t wait! My hearing for my senior recital is fast approaching and I’m getting a little antsy, though I know I’ll totally nail it. 🙂

Happy Friday!

Navy + Chevron

sweater: Target (similar), pants: Old Navy, shoes: Converse, necklace: F21

Our local Old Navy just recently reopened after building a new (smaller! Ugh!) building and my mom, sister and I hit it up to see what we could find. Turns out these pants were on sale for $7! Score! Super comfy and a little high-waisted with a trendy pattern. Oh, and pockets. Course, their sale section is about 2×3… hopefully that changes! Yikes!

Today at 12:30 I’m singing on my very last student recital before I graduate in May! I’m not nearly as nervous as I know I will be for my hearing next Wednesday. I’ll sing all of my pieces that I’ll be doing for my senior recital for a panel of my teachers and they determine whether or not I’ll get to do my recital. Right now, it seems like fun but I’m sure next week I’ll be a wreck. 🙂

How’s your week going? It’s almost Friday!
