Mini Malls at Night. BOO.

I wore this to church the night before my birthday. My sister was giving her testimony (nailed it, btw) and I wanted to spice it up with a little glam. The only places open in my “town” at night are Whataburger and the gas station. Our Dollar General was about to close so while my parents ran in for a few things we snapped these under the flattering fluorescent.

I can’t believe how big of a score this blouse was. I bought it several years ago in no doubt a Goodwill somewhere in this country. Rulez, right?

So what are you doing for Halloween? I’ve got no plans. We can’t wear costumes to work so I think I’m going as farts in a human costume.

Happy Halloween. BOO.

Hump Day

Come on! Who knew the light in this parking lot was going to be so good? The blank slate of the parking lot was so good it was just begging to have me take my pictures in it. My sister Shel and I took our Labor Day off and hit the town shopping. We had a blast drinking coffee, strolling around Target, and buying things we don’t need. πŸ™‚ Oh and hello, do you know the wonder of TJ Maxx?! I’ve only shopped there less than five times in my life but I can’t for the life of me figure out why. THAT. PLACE. IS. AMAZING. I almost bought a $30 Steve Madden crossbody that was so beautiful and I am regretting it now. My sister bought the most gorgeous leather and studded bag and I keep wanting to snatch! We did get new wallets that we love though. Mine is blue with tons of little compartments and cute gold zippers. I had a cheap snap one from WalMart which served its purpose but kept unsnapping in my bag and change would always spill everywhere. Flarp! Moral of the story, never underestimate TJ Maxx. Ever. Ok?

Next we hit up Target and since ULTA is right next door… πŸ™‚

I have a hard time controlling myself in that store. It was very uncrowded Monday, which was surprising. The amount of samples and testers out sets my little swatching hand a racin’! That’s why in the picture below there’s a hot blue swipe of eyeliner. πŸ™‚ NYX you get me every time! πŸ™‚

Now on to the outfit details…

Cut It Out

This is the first time I’ve worn this shirt since getting it several months ago. And by several, I really mean several. Like, six months ago. :/ Oops! The triangles are actual cut-outs which is cool until you catch a finger or the edge of a gold cuff and nearly rip them off.

In other news, I really need a haircut. It’s cool to have long hair and all but it has really gotten out of control. My mom chopped off some of my dad’s hair the other day but then forgot about me. Thanks, Char.

So what are you doing for Labor Day? The daycare is actually closed! Woohoo! So I’m going shopping with my sisters to buy things we don’t need. What a way to celebrate labor! By not laboring.

For those of you that started back to school, how’s it going!? College? High school? Middle school? My youngest sister started her freshman year of high school last week! Aww! She’s in the marching band and plays clarinet. We went and saw her very first game last Friday night. Hello, Friday night football! I missed you. She was so great! We can all tell she’s having a blast even though she tries to act cool in front of us. πŸ™‚ Go Rudy!

Let me know in the comments how school is going for you! And look out for my very first makeup tutorial tomorrow. πŸ™‚ I’m pretty excited!

Happy Monday!

Outfit Outtakes: Derp Edition

Sometimes a girl just doesn’t look her best. It’s a real shame when those moments are caught on camera. The derpiness is in full force here guys, so don’t judge. I can’t believe I’ve kept all of these. πŸ™‚ I’ve come up with clever names for each of these and by clever I mean incredibly stupid and stupid. Yes I said stupid twice because it is stupid. Enjoy!

PS. The titles are linked to the original posts where I don’t show my derp.

Trust me, there are plenty of bad ones to the good ones I post here. There are even more embarrassing ones to these… but I do have some dignity, thank you. I hope this brightened up your day and reminded you that there’s a little derp in all of us πŸ™‚

I want to thank all of you that have been praying for Jason’s family. If you don’t know, Jason’s dad suddenly passed away a little over a week ago. It has been a very tough time for all of us. I never realized how much has to happen so soon after someone is gone. It’s rough on the family, the spouse, and the kids. Please continue to pray for comfort for Jason’s mom, his brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and Jason himself. Pray that we would see the big picture here and what God is doing in this situation. Pray for those surrounding the situation to know how to help and comfort and heal. We know who is in control and we continue to look to Him as we celebrate Jason’s dad’s life. We are thankful for his commitment to serve Jesus and share His love with the community. It was incredible to see the outpouring of love and support for the family the community gave.

It seems silly to post an outfit here after something so serious as death. But this blog reflects my life. It’s a journal for me and I need to record things… even silly things like a basic outfit and more life things like this.

I’m thankful for y’all that read this and pray. Please continue to do so!

Happy Monday πŸ™‚

I wore this to run a bunch of errands yesterday. One of them being getting a shot. πŸ™ Tell me how ridiculous this is: I needed a bacterial meningitis shot for online classes. Weird, right? So after finally getting the shot I’ll have to take the proof to the school office and get them to take the hold off my account so I can register for the classes hoping they’re not full yet. πŸ™ I hate shots! I haven’t had one in a while and it wasn’t pleasant. What is it about the tiniest piece of metal being poked into my skin that I can’t stand?

Afterwards I spent a while in Walgreen’s spending my graduation money on makeup. Look out for a haul post soon!

Yesterday was also my sweet mama’s birthday! My sister made her surprise chocolate banana bread for breakfast and I made a chocolate cake and my special cookies! Yum!

Today I’m off to a secret meeting with a friend for a super cool post coming in the future. So look out for it! πŸ™‚

Happy Hump Day!
