Come On, Texas

The weather here has been nuts. Earlier this week it was in the 80s. Today it’s in the 40s. Not that I’m hating it! I love the cold. But come on, Texas. Make a decision already!

I just really want to say again to all of you that I love you. Thank you for encouraging me and loving on me. God is good.

Happy Friday! What are your plans for the weekend? I’m going to see all of my friends in a musical they’re putting on. Then tomorrow it’s game night. 🙂

Byeeeeeee!

A Girl and Her Dog

cardigan: AE, top: Old Navy, jeans: Target, shoes: Journey’s

This is a very typical outfit for me. Jeans, jeans jeans. 🙂 Speaking of jeans, where are your favorite places to buy them? I like Target’s jeans but there doesn’t seem to be that much variety. Forever21’s are cheap but literally ALL they have are skinny jeans. Old Navy is alright but hard to fit and their sizes vary from color to color. It’s insane. HELP!

Look how big Pepper is! Her one year old birthday is next month. 🙂 Can’t wait to make her a puppy cake!

Oh, and look. My bud Travis and I accidentally matched. Precious!

Happy Thursday! What are your plans for the rest of the week? Student appreciation week is still going on so I’ll be checking it out. What’s happening near you?

Any of you watch Daily Grace? My friend Kait and I do. So, Kait, this is for you.

Tomorrow’s Friday!

Masculine

vscocam624vscocam625vscocam626vscocam627

button-up: JCrew, shorts: sister’s closet, tights: Target, oxfords: Forever21, ring: jank

Felt a little masculine wearing this button up and oxfords yesterday. It was pretty warm out but the tights surprisingly didn’t add to it! I’ve never been good at dressing for this crazy Texas heat and each summer is a new challenge. I’m more prone to buy jackets and jeans than shorts and tanks. Guess this gives me a new reason to shop. 😉

That last picture is what happens when your $1 flea market ring breaks at school. Broken jewelry will catch on. Watch.

How’s your week going? Bought anything good lately? I’d love to see!

I’m off to enjoy our Student Appreciation week. 🙂 So far we’ve had a crawfish boil with a live band, The Bigsbys, where I splattered crawfish juice all over myself in the first five minutes, a blood-drive, 41 hours of fitness (didn’t participate :), and we’ll see what’s happening today!

Happy Wednesday!

Bright and Sunny

cardigan: JCrew, dress: c/o eShakti, belt: Old Navy, wedges: Threadsense

eShakti contacted me right after their spring line launched and asked me to choose a dress and this little beauty was in the mailbox a few weeks later. 🙂 There are POCKETS! Ruffled neck line! A bow in the back! Knee length! This is my second dress given to me by eShakti (still haven’t blogged about the first! Sorry…) and they are both so incredibly well made and so easily customizable. With this dress I changed the length a little bit, but you can change the neck line, sleeve length, hem length, or take away pockets (but why would you?!). The color is so bright and it doesn’t wrinkle very easily. There’s a hidden zipper in the side instead of the back, which I really like. It fits like a dream. They carry sizes 0-30 or you can enter in your custom measurements. I’m terrible at measuring myself so I stick to the regular sizing. This is really a perfect fit for me in my size!

Thanks, eShakti! Check them out!

sweatshirt: my sister’s closet, blouse: Old Navy, pants/necklace: Forever21, flats: local shop

I wore this to an Anberlin concert back in February with my sister, Shel. It was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to! It was a very spontaneous thing. I saw the tickets on my ticket app, texted Shel, and it was done. The tickets were only $25! We drove down early and at at the Twisted Root, continuing our tours of Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives restaurants. (Parts one and two!) You REALLY have to go if you’re anywhere in Downtown Dallas. It. Is. So. Good. (Tell me what person you get when you order! I was Fergie.) The lighting and location was so great we snapped these pictures right in the parking lot.

Happy Monday! 🙂

Really Public Bathrooms

My sister Shelby didn’t get to come in last weekend because of school stuff so we met her halfway in Sulphur Springs and experienced some really, really public bathrooms. Sulphur Springs decided it would be a good idea to install two mirrored bathrooms in the middle of downtown. You can see out, but not in. So naturally our family took full advantage of these.

Dad successfully used it. All I did was Vine it. 🙂 (Are you on Vine?) (Why aren’t you on Vine?!) (@melodyrich)

Have a great day, guys! Happy Friday!

PS. Let’s all marvel at my vast bank of poses.
