Nobody Looks Good In A Graduation Cap

Finally! I’m blogging about this dress! eShakti sent this to me last fall and I never had a fancy enough occasion to wear it to. Looks like graduation was the ticket. 😉 The sizing of this dress is perfect. There’s a hidden zipper in the side and an elastic waistline. I will say that the sheer sleeves are too big for my liking. I’d much prefer it if they were more skin tight. I’m sure I can persuade my mom to fix that. 😛 Oh! Did I mention there are pockets?! Perfect for hiding my lipgloss and phone in while I waltzed across the stage last Friday night. 🙂

Wanna see a picture of me in my grad garb? Okay, fine. Here I am in all of my robed glory.

This jumping picture is a tradition when I graduate. This is the third in my series of jumping pictures. 🙂 I was supporting End It Movement on my cap. I hope I spread at least some interest and curiosity!

Upside down. Nice. 😉

Funny story about that robe. My friend Megan and I were backstage and I wondered why hers, which was the same size as mine, was so much smaller. We looked at the tags and I bought a plus size robe. That would explain why my hands and arms disappeared. 😛 We had a good laugh the entire ceremony, but I still rocked it, right? Right.

I’ve begun applying for bid kid jobs and it’s kind of scary! I’ve applied for three so far, all secretary related. I’m thinking I’ll get a semi-easy job and save up some money while figuring out where God wants me for the musical part of my life. It’s scary and exciting at the same time! Wish me “luck”! 😛

Happy Tuesday!

*Thanks to eShakti for sending me this dress and allowing me to graduate in style. 🙂

eShakti contacted me right after their spring line launched and asked me to choose a dress and this little beauty was in the mailbox a few weeks later. 🙂 There are POCKETS! Ruffled neck line! A bow in the back! Knee length! This is my second dress given to me by eShakti (still haven’t blogged about the first! Sorry…) and they are both so incredibly well made and so easily customizable. With this dress I changed the length a little bit, but you can change the neck line, sleeve length, hem length, or take away pockets (but why would you?!). The color is so bright and it doesn’t wrinkle very easily. There’s a hidden zipper in the side instead of the back, which I really like. It fits like a dream. They carry sizes 0-30 or you can enter in your custom measurements. I’m terrible at measuring myself so I stick to the regular sizing. This is really a perfect fit for me in my size!

Thanks, eShakti! Check them out!

eShakti: Power

Hey gang! Yeah, I’m calling you gang. Today is pretty exciting for me! I’m going to be reviewing my first ever brand! eShakti approached me about a month ago and asked if I would be interested in receiving an item of their clothing to wear and review on the blog. Not one to ever turn down something free I obliged. 🙂 Lucky me, the dress I chose arrived yesterday afternoon! But more on that tomorrow. Today I’ll be reviewing the brand and my overall experience with them.

Picture 1

When Jane from eShakti contacted me at the beginning of November I was elated! The deal was they would send me an item of my choice to keep and review for the blog if I so chose but I also had the option to review the brand, their philosophy, and policies. That’s what I’ll be doing today.

Jane explained their mission statement like this:
eShakti is a fresh concept in custom clothing.  We believe that all women have the right to wear affordable fashion.  What began as a small website offering basic cottons and modestly embellished pieces has grown into an international company offering  fashionable custom clothing. eShakti offers both design and fit customization for women size 0 through 36. This is the heart of our business.”
Shakti means power in Sanskrit. Internet + Shakti=eShakti! Cool, huh?!

Once I read this I was sold. One of my secret dreams is to design a line of plus-size clothing that is actually cute! So many times brands only cater to sizes 0-12 while the other sizes must look elsewhere (and try a lot harder) to find fashionable clothing. The amazing thing about eShakti is that every. single. item on their website comes in sizes 0-36. If that doesn’t suit you then you can have something completely customized to your measurements. You can tailor the length, neckline, sleeves, and even take away pockets or embellishments if you want. (Though pockets on anything pretty much rules.)

They don’t keep a warehouse of items since each of their orders are cut to order, which is why shipping may take a few days longer than most brands (about 2 weeks). With each order a height measurement is required to ensure a truer fit.

eShakti is incredibly customer centered. The heart of the brand is putting each and every woman, no matter what size, into a beautiful garment. This is the number one reason I decided to accept their review.

So you should definitely check them out if you’re looking for something catered just to you. 🙂

Check back tomorrow for a product review! It’s going to be fun!
