Printed Pants

tee: Old Navy-old, pants: Target (similar), wedges: Target (similar), hat: Forever21

These pants are pretty great. They feel like pajamas! Oh, and there are pockets. Duh.

So since you guys are great, I’m going to be doing my first giveaway soon! Once my Facebook page reaches 100 likes I’ll be giving away something pretty. I’m not sure what it’ll be yet, so leave a comment with an idea if you want! Oh, and like the page so you can get into the drawing! ๐Ÿ™‚

House Tour: Living and Dining Room

This is pretty much the only room in our house that is actually (semi) finished! Our bedroom is missing carpet, our game room has glue all over the wood floors, and the guest room just needs work! We’re hoping to save up enough money to move in the next couple of years so we’re not putting any money into this house until then. Yay, moving!

Surprisingly, every single thing in this room is free (or cheap!) to us. It was either gifted, found, or from our wedding. The couches and dining table were given to us by our parents and all the vases, linens, and throws were gifts or thrifted. The side tables were bought at a flea market. We really needed those! We were using the floor and an old chair ๐Ÿ™‚ Our liquor/linen cabinet is from Jason’s work. They were cleaning out the home economics room and we snatched it up! Can’t wait to refinish it and reline the back and hopefully add another shelf. There’s too much vertical space in the bottom for me! The antlers on the mantel were found in Colorado by my aunt and uncle. The baby’s breath in the vases are from our wedding table. Yes, I’ve kept them for two years. It’s probably time to throw them away? The chevron lampshade is a DIY I did last summer, one of my favorites in the room!

Still to do in here are curtains, trim around the ceiling, cushion for our bench, and recover dining chairs! Looks like a big trip to IKEA is in order… ๐Ÿ™‚

Neon + Polka Dot

cardigan worn backwards: Forever21, necklace/pants: Forever21, sandals: Old Navy, watch: WalMart

I love these pants. Though I do dislike Forever21’s unpredictable sizing! I have several pairs of jeans from them and some fit, some are a little baggy, and some are entirely too tight. Yeesh. They are pretty comfortable though! I like pants that aren’t slacks or jeans. It just adds some variety, especially with different patterns.

I can’t believe I don’t do this crownbraid more often! I remember doing it a couple of years ago but having someone else do it. I can’t contort my hands to go all the way around my head. I just stick with a french braid as far as I can go then pin the rest up. It’s easy and pretty!

What are you doing this weekend? My in-laws are taking me for a birthday dinner. ๐Ÿ™‚ Yum!

Birthday style!

tee/belt: Target, necklace: unknown, skirt/booties: Forever21, ring: c/o InPink

I blogged earlier about Jason’s surprising me by taking me to a restaurant I’d been begging to go to. It was a dressy place and my sister, who’s been before, let me know if this outfit was alright. ๐Ÿ™‚ I loved it! I’d never thought of wearing this skirt so high up on my waist but with some Spanx it worked. ๐Ÿ˜‰ย Never mindย the stains on it! Good thing there was dim lighting in the restaurant. They had dessert but we wanted to stretch our legs so we drove to the nearest Dairy Queen for some blizzards afterwards. We spent the long drive home talking about our future, our marriage and anything under the sun. I always love talking future with Jason. We both get so excited ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you’re having a good week!

Eight seven two.

anorak: AE (similar), dress: Old Navy (similar), boots: Forever21

I’ve had this outfit in my head for about a week and have been waiting for it to get cool enough to wear the jacket! Looks like October 1 was the day! I went a little nuts with the pictures for this outfit. I just got a remote and had a great time moving my tripod all around our backyard and around the bus barn getting some pretty shots. ๐Ÿ™‚ It felt glorious outside! Wish we had a porch to enjoy it.

School has calmed down some, if you can call it that. Between a disappointing test grade and preparing for a half hour solo recital (yikes!) it’s actually been pretty calm. Looking forward to a day off tomorrow to relax and do some homework. Have a good day!

Awkward and Awesome

cardi: AE, tank: Pacsun, skirt: F21, scarf: borrowed, rings: flea market

Awkward:

-First thing Monday morning I get a flat tireย andย bend the rim. AGAIN.
-Ordered a new rim and it came in a couple of days later. Bent.
-How easy it is to make fun of Apple!
-Wednesday morning I went to observe an elementary music class and went to the wrong classroom. Went a little something like this:

Me: “Hi, I’m supposed to observe today?”
Receptionist: “Well, do you have some kind of paper saying that?”
Me: “Uh, no… I arranged it with the teacher.”
Receptionist lets me stand there awkwardly while she ignores me for a while.
Receptionist: “So you’ll walk all the way down this hall and it’s on your left.”
Me: Standing for ten minutes knocking. Teacher walks down hall and says, “Are you looking for me?”
Me: “Yes!” once inside, “Where would you like me to sit?”
Teacher: “Oh, anywhere you want. What are you here for?”
Me: “Oh, I’m here to observe you. I sent you an email.” (I had heard back so this seemed weird.)
Teacher: “Oh I didn’t get an email. What did it say?”
Me: “Uh, are you Mrs. Blahblah?”
Teacher: “No.”
Crap.
Ten minutes after the start of her class I made it. And she was lovely.

Awesome:

-All the rain we’re getting! YAY!
-Like I even have to say it… the iPhone 5. (Yes, Apple is awkward and conceited. But they make a good phone, okay?)
-A new rim is now ready for us. So $160 later, we’re back to where we were.
-Going to Gearbox’s release party for Borderlands 2 tonight! How CRAZY is that?! They’re HQ is right here in Dallas. Thankfully I’ve got a pretty cool aunt and uncle that are letting us tagalong. ๐Ÿ™‚

Now excuse me while I wait on my new iPhone…

PS. What do you think of the “new” layout? Thought I’d give the pictures a chance to be a little bigger! Not set on it yet. Thoughts?
