Saturday Swoons: Two Days Later

This weekend was positively too short. Chock full of rehearsals, my first choir concert of the semester, and lots of family time, it felt like there weren’t enough hours in the day. It was still a good weekend!

Now that it’s Monday (ew) I thought I’d think about some neat stuff to make myself feel better.

-How cool is that? Not sure how much or if it’s even real but that’s super awesome.
-Sitting and thinking about what I still want to do to this house. It makes me feel so good knowing I can do whatever I want!
-Hitting up our goodwill three times in the past two weeks and hitting the jackpot every time.

-These browned butter chocolate chip cookies. SO. GOOD. (I also made homemade oatmeal cream pies. Also super delicious!)
-Getting a free chair, toaster, and JCrew shirt from my Aunt Jenn today. Wee!

I hope you’re having a good Monday so far!

(Happy Halloween! Today I’m going as bacon to school. I’ll be posting pictures soon!)

What We Had of Cold Weather

sweater: goodwill, jeans: f21, boots: gojane belt: target

Seriously the comfiest sweater ever. Oversized, soft, and snuggly. I do need to take the arms in, though. They’re a bit saggy. I wore this on the only cold day we’ve had since the spring. Clearly it was not here to stay. I’m so tired of trying to find cool outfits to wear! Boo, heat!

Jammin’

shirt: passion, skirt: f21, tights: f21, boots: gojane

This outfit was described as “jammin’” to me today. I thought that was totally awesome.

This day.. wow. It was Monday.

This morning my 8am was cancelled and I have no 9am. In theory, I didn’t have to be in Tyler until 10. We spent all day at my parents’ yesterday and weren’t home until 11 that night. I packed my lunch, got my books together, and laid out an outfit for Monday morning. I was exhausted. I set my alarm and got up at 6.40. Drove all the way to Tyler, walked into the music building. Lights were off, no one was in the lobby and I was alone. I wanted to cry. I had just driven an hour–exhausted, mind you– and I didn’t even have class. I called Jason and decided to drive back home and take a nap. I barely made it home without falling asleep. I took a 45 minute nap, made the trek back to Tyler for choir only to find that no one was waiting for choir. “Duh,” I remembered. We had planned to do a flash mob in the cafeteria that day. Again, I wanted to cry. Really?! Twice in one day?

(The flash mob was awesome, btw. We did a gospel piece and everyone videoed us. It was cool.)

After walking back to my car, I ate lunch and talked to Jason for about ten minutes before heading into diction. I didn’t look at the music for my last class so I was totally clueless on what we were talking about. Thankfully, I wasn’t called on to answer any questions. FINALLY, I came home, started dinner and watched game five of the world series. (Go Rangers!)

Whew. Any of you ever have a Monday like this? Or any other day?

Is It Bad?

dress: old navy, tights: f21, shoes: f21, belt: target

This is my very favorite dress. I got it on super sale. I only wish that it was a few inches longer so I didn’t always have to wear tights with it. This was one of my favorite outfits though!

Last night a CRAAZY storm ran through at about 2 am. I heard a loud crash at about 2.18 that woke me up and made Jason ask if I was okay, hah. When I got up this morning I saw that our neighbor’s tree was split in half. All of the branches were just lying on the ground. Is it bad if I ask them if I could have a big hunk to use as a side table?

Happy Wednesday!

My New Favorite Shirt

top: goodwill, jeans: AE, wedges: target, watch: found in our house

This is my new favorite shirt. Found at the goodwill. The goodwill in our town is nestled in downtown and it’s pretty cozy as far as goodwills go. If you follow me on Twitter you know that when I bought this shirt it was the first time I’d been shopping in three months. It felt good!

I wore these shoes all day at school Monday. Since they’re only about 3 inches I didn’t think it’d be so bad. But curse that Mossimo brand, for some reason they don’t have much give in the stretch department. So when I went out to my car for lunch (yeah, I eat in my car. every. day.) I took my shoes off. As I was talking to Jason on the phone I happened to look down at my feet. Wait. What’s tha- BLOOD! One of my toes was covered in dried blood. Since-this is embarrassing- I don’t (how should I say this) give my toes the attention they deserve (ie: cut them on a regular basis) this particular toenail was pushed up against the inside of my shoe and nearly ripped the whole nail off.

(If my aunts are reading this, it’s obvious I didn’t heed your advice from the night before my wedding. HAHA! :))

I got home and tended to my nails. Happy ending. 🙂

Hope you all are having a good day!

Saturday Swoons: Birthday Edition

Hey there, peeps!

How was your week? As for me I survived what I thought would be the end of me: September 16. AKA: Yesterday.

Last week our Music History prof. gave us a ten page test review to fill out. It was the test. Being me, I waited until the Wednesday and Thursday before the test to fill it out. BUT! I did it all by myself! I think that’s the first time I’ve been able to say that. Weeee. Also on Friday our form and analysis groups had to present projects we had been working on since the second week of school. I did well in speech and had a bud, Marla, up there with me presenting as well.

My voice lesson also surprised me. Being preoccupied with worrying and writing down 80 terms for music history I had neglected my lesson music. (Sorry, Mrs. Newman. It’s true. We cool, right?) So at the last second, (11pm on a Thursday) I hastily threw together the things I needed to look successful at the next day’s lesson. Her exact words in my lesson: “I can tell you’ve put a lot of time into this!”

Yeah. I’m awesome.

SO! On to Saturday Swoons! I’ve done a post like this before but I’m thinking of making it a regular/semi-regular post for the weekends. Here I’ll share things I wish I could buy if money were no object and share things I wish I had anyway. Here we go!

1. Jeffrey Campbell boots. $160.
2. Bare Escentuals Prime Time. $22.
3. Frederic Fekkai Luscious Curls Cream. $24.
4. Miu Miu Booties. $890.

(I read about the Frederic Fekkai cream in Cecily von Ziegesar’s book series The It Girl and have wanted it ever since. Is that weird?) So, family, since my birthday is in 13 days (eek!) feel free to get any of these things. 🙂 Well, except the Miu Miu boots. That’s understandable.
