I Wore One Brand Accidentally

WHAAAAAAAAAT! How about a #whatmelwears for your Monday? SNAP how’d you like that brand spankin’ new hashtag I came up with? (Too many ALL CAPS?)

For Thanksgiving last year, my mom’s family rented a house in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The house backed up to this enormous hill and some pretty expansive woods. Obvi we had to go into the woods and take pictures. It just so happened I was also wearing clothes. Put two and two together and you get this post. (Also, 4.)

I’m just realizing that everything I wore that day was all from the same place. *high five me* *or scold me for buying my entire outfit at one place even though I worked there and got a killer discount*
Why does it seem like the only outfit posts I’ve done lately have been from Thanksgivings in Arkansas? Don’t worry! I’ll show you my trendy new haircut soon! I got it cut on Friday so if you follow me on Snapchat (hinthint) you’ve already seen it. Think of all the shampoo I’ll save…

So what’s been up with you guys? How’s it going? I’ve got a lot of fun things coming up that’ll obviously turn into a blog post. Like, some Dallas Bucket List things and whatnot. I can’t wait!

Happy Monday!

Six Party Dress Ideas Under $75

Birthday!

Happy Monday! I’m currently recovering from a whirlwind weekend trip to New Orleans for my friends’ joint bachelor and bachelorette party. (Post to come! Spoiler Alert: IT WAS FUN.) I spent 18 hours in a car riding and driving from New Orleans to Austin to Waco and then home to Dallas. But! I’m awake, thanks coffee. And since my birthday is in two days (!!!!!!) I thought I’d continue the party mood with a few sweet party dress ideas!

Sleeved floral

ONE. How adorable is this ModCloth dress? This is what I pictured when I thought of twirling around for my 25th. Affordable at only $60!

Fuschia ModCloth

TWO. Sigh. This color. This fuchsia is a pretty sweet transition from summer to fall. And that top detail! $65!

Floral Modcloth

THREE. Another floral, shocker. I like the flare of this one better than the first one, but wish it had pockets! Little bit less expensive at $55.

Tulle Skirt Modcloth

FOUR. How fun is this pink tulle skirt?! This would be so fun to traipse around Dallas in on the weekend. It screams birthday! $50.

Emerald Shop Ruche

FIVE. Before this becomes a ModCloth party, let me present to you this emerald gem. My skin tone and hair color look amazing in jewel tones and this emerald would be a subtle stunner. $49!

Red Shop Ruche

SIX. Ever since I saw Julianne Moore (I think) rocking red with her read hair, I fell in love with the trend. Why can’t redheads wear red?! I love the jewel hue of this red, too. $55.

So which one? I mean, they’re obviously all gorgeous and I do need a dress for my friends’ wedding. Which one would you choose?

#tbt to Passion Island. Standing in the ocean, water surrounded me, sand in my toes… I mean, do you ever feel any prettier? Oh also with a rum punch in your hand. That kinda adds to it. Oh, and a belly full of chips and guacamole. I’m hungry.

Did I mention we had a balcony? Did I mention it was the best thing ever sleeping with that door open? Ugh. Staring at that blue water just makes me happy.

Also, is it okay to just wear a bathing suit around the house? I don’t have a pool so I’m thinking this suit won’t see the light of day for a while. Kinda wanna get my money’s worth. Right? Or like, wear it under my clothes or something if I don’t do laundry for a while and run out of underwear.

Don’t judge me.

How cool are those glasses?! I got them the last time I was in Austin at Buffalo Exchange. $8 later and they were mine. They’re all metal so there’s no chance of them snapping in half or anything. I love them. They’re the perfect darkness on sunny days and I also resemble John Lennon, so. #sokewl

WHAT! AN OUTFIT POST!? I am BACK, baby. I wore this on Thanksgiving day in the mountains of Arkansas. My mom’s family rented a house in Mena that backed up to the Ouachita National Forest. *heart eyes emoji* The log house was surrounded by fields and fences and trees and mountains and the sun was prettier up there than down here. (Sorry, Texas.) The crisp cold and the sun setting behind me made for some pretty epic outfit photos. (Thanks sister!) We had so much fun hiking in the forest and playing dice and eating together and just being together. It’s been a while since our whole family has celebrated together and it refreshed me. Shel and I drove up Tuesday night and I stayed until Thursday night, driving back to work Black Friday. It wasn’t actually so bad! I survived, right?

Anyway, back to the mountains. UGH. They were gorgeous. I’ll either get married in the mountains or on the beach. It’s a toss up.

How was your Thanksgiving?

Oh, Say

Well, how was your Fourth? I spent mine floating in a pool at night with friends after having a classic American meal: grilled dawgs. Only after having half of one of the best burgers I’ve ever had with my family, grilled a la my dad. Then my mom made cronuts Saturday night to top it all off!

After work Friday I needed to capture my patriotic outfit and snap some VERY adorable pictures of Pepper to forever capture her cuteness as if I’d ever forget.

I think July Fourth gets looked over as one of my favorite holidays because it always sneaks up on me. And not in like Christmas-sneaks-up-on-me kind of way, but in a July Fourth is in the middle of the year kind of way. I love the flags and fireworks and patriotism. And the pictures. I’ve got a super cool shoot idea in mind… now to just wait until my sister is free…
