Hey gang! Yeah, I’m calling you gang. Today is pretty exciting for me! I’m going to be reviewing my first ever brand! eShakti approached me about a month ago and asked if I would be interested in receiving an item of their clothing to wear and review on the blog. Not one to ever turn down something free I obliged. 🙂 Lucky me, the dress I chose arrived yesterday afternoon! But more on that tomorrow. Today I’ll be reviewing the brand and my overall experience with them.
When Jane from eShakti contacted me at the beginning of November I was elated! The deal was they would send me an item of my choice to keep and review for the blog if I so chose but I also had the option to review the brand, their philosophy, and policies. That’s what I’ll be doing today.
Jane explained their mission statement like this:
“eShakti is a fresh concept in custom clothing.  We believe that all women have the right to wear affordable fashion.  What began as a small website offering basic cottons and modestly embellished pieces has grown into an international company offering  fashionable custom clothing. eShakti offers both design and fit customization for women size 0 through 36. This is the heart of our business.”
Shakti means power in Sanskrit. Internet + Shakti=eShakti! Cool, huh?!
Once I read this I was sold. One of my secret dreams is to design a line of plus-size clothing that is actually cute! So many times brands only cater to sizes 0-12 while the other sizes must look elsewhere (and try a lot harder) to find fashionable clothing. The amazing thing about eShakti is that every. single. item on their website comes in sizes 0-36. If that doesn’t suit you then you can have something completely customized to your measurements. You can tailor the length, neckline, sleeves, and even take away pockets or embellishments if you want. (Though pockets on anything pretty much rules.)
They don’t keep a warehouse of items since each of their orders are cut to order, which is why shipping may take a few days longer than most brands (about 2 weeks). With each order a height measurement is required to ensure a truer fit.
eShakti is incredibly customer centered. The heart of the brand is putting each and every woman, no matter what size, into a beautiful garment. This is the number one reason I decided to accept their review.
So you should definitely check them out if you’re looking for something catered just to you. 🙂
Check back tomorrow for a product review! It’s going to be fun!

jacket: sister’s via Buffalo Exchange, shirt: thrifted, skirt: Target, shoes: F21
Well, I’m out of school! Last Wednesday was my only day of exams and I gotta say, it was a lot easier than I anticipated. However, I didn’t feel really done until after Saturday. I was asked to sing the National Anthem and Alma Mater at all four graduation ceremonies which required nearly two full days of sitting and waiting! But that paycheck is sure worth it! 🙂
For my first week out of class I’ve got plans to catch up on house stuff and finally get some Christmas shopping done with my sister. Also giving poor Pepper some attention is on the list. Poor dog. All the while listening to some new music I’ve discovered hiding in my iTunes. Albums like Eric Whitacre’s Light and Gold, Motion City Soundtrack, Anberlin’s Dark is the Way Light is a Place, all the Twilight soundtracks, and some other little songs I’ve found. Should be a good week!
MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🙂

My only two finals this week are on Wednesday with a five hour break between them. Then I’m free until January. 🙂 I’ve been feeling pretty nostalgic with ending my last ever fall semester. I’ll never be in school during the fall again or drive onto campus and see all the trees and the cars and the fountain and the big auditorium in the fall. I think I’m having a crisis. After May I’ll be out of school permanently for the first time in my life. It’s a little daunting! Guess we’ll just see what happens. You know, if the world doesn’t end.

Sorry for the slight blurriness. It was getting dark super fast! I wore this the day we started learning choreography in choir. Yes. Choreography. Me. Dancing. YIKES. At least it was fun 🙂
How’s your week? Finals are almost here!
dress: Target, cardi: thrifted, tights: Target, flats: Target, necklace: Rue21
So sorry there were only two posts last week! Things got a little wild with homework and I’ve basically been gone all weekend and will be gone all day today as well. All for choir stuff, so at least it’s fun! For all of this choir stuff I’ve had to dress nicely, which I can do but I always need a little flair. I really wanted to hit this with some moccasin boots but decided black flats would be a little fancier. 🙂
IT’S DECEMBER! Are you ready for Christmas?
