My Irrational Irrational Fears

-Our cats running away. Shoot me dead.
-I think my hair will fall out after I wash it when it hasn’t been washed in a while.
-Cutting a vein on my ankle while shaving and bleeding to death.
-Someone being in the tub when I pull back the curtain.
-Having a “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” baby.
-If a pen is pointing towards me on a table I think black magic will make it shoot into my heart.
-When I drop a grape, or anything spherical, in the kitchen it seems logical that a spider arm would creep out and grab it while I’m bending down to pick it up.
-When I pull hair out of the tub drain I think I’m going to pull out a person.

What is my life about.

That Time We Were Stalked in Drug Emporium

striped dress: Old Navy, lace skirt: Target, sandals: F21, sunglasses: thrifted
Thanks Shel for the pics!

I love this dress. The only problem is it’s just a tad too short for me. Layering tights underneath is fine for cooler temps but it is WAY too hot for that. After exhausting my brain for other options I saw this skirt begging to be layered underneath. It adds just enough length to this dress to be worn without leggings. Woohoo! Skirt shopping has a whole new dimension now. 🙂

Yesterday I went with my sister to take our other sister to the movies with some friends. We wasted time in the hidden gem that is Drug Emporium looking at all the health foods and super cheap hair products. Whilst on said hair products aisle, I happened to look to my left and see a gentleman about our age giving me the side eye while “looking” at the shampoo. I wish I could show you the look he was giving us. It was like a cheesy detective following someone around and hiding behind a cereal box.
I secretly pulled Shel to another aisle so I could tell her and laugh together. We walked back out of that aisle and passed the same guy like he had come to find us.
We moved to the other side of the hair aisle and looked over towards the front of the store. He was standing by the curling irons watching us. Again.
We moved again to another part of the store. Watching us. Again.
We moved to the makeup counter thinking he’d back off if we were in the feminine part of the store. Shel walked over to me and said, “He’s at the perfume counter.” I said, “Yeah.. let’s check out and leave.”
We walked to the front of the store, checked out while keeping a watchful eye, and walked out.
I looked over to Shel and asked if he was still watching us. She didn’t want to look but neither did I. I got in the passenger side of the car and turned back to look.

HE WAS STANDING AT THE DOOR WATCHING OUT AT THE PARKING LOT.

What kind of…?!

We talked the whole way home about how we wish we were brave enough to approach people like that. But a weirdy stalker guy in the middle of the day following two girls around in a health store? WHO DOES THAT?

That Time I Ate My Weight in Yeast Rolls

necklace: ?, dress: Target, shoes: F21

Happy Resurrection day! (yesterday, I guess!) We had an incredible church service and celebrated our RISEN Savior! After church Jason and I headed back to my parents house for a delicious lunch of ham, roasted green beans, hashbrown casserole and yeast rolls. We topped it off with lemon ice-box pie. Uh, yum. I love spending time with them. 🙂 How was your weekend? Jason and I have a lot of candy to eat. 🙂

Hello From Florida!

We made it! Saturday night we finally made it in a little after dark and walked into our condo to the smell of sunscreen and beach. It. Was. Amazing. Our balcony looks out over the beach and we are literally 10 steps to it. The listing of our condo said there was wi-fi, but when mom emailed the guy asking where it was, he said they just steal it from an unprotected wi-fi next door. Uh, what? When we got here, there was no unprotected wi-fi so he said to go to the Subway across the street? What kind of crazy…!? So now, some weird listing for wi-fi came up and I jumped on it. The cell service here is whack too so none of us have really been able to call, Facebook, or send emails. Not that we’ve needed too. 🙂 I mean, look at that view!

Anywho, just thought I’d do a little post since I abruptly jumped off the face of the earth there for a while. See you guys back on Monday. Maybe. 🙂

Happy Spring Break!

Four More Days

shirt: F21, skirt: Target, necklace: ??, watch:??, bracelet: F21, boots: GoJane

Four more days until this. And this. And this. Unfortunately, I’m not there yet and am stuck on the couch watching the cats hunt down roaches and listening to Jason sleeping. At least I’m not up studying my eyeballs out like I was Monday night. Yikes. Oh, and I’m finally getting my hair cut. Hooray! Friday morning at 9am couldn’t get here soon enough!

Any book recommendations for our trip? My mom bought me The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo which I can’t wait to read! My sister has the Hunger Games, before you suggest that, and it’s all OVER my “to read” list. I’d love your suggestions!

Doing anything fun over spring break?

Charlotte Taylor Creates

Hey all! If you know my mom at all you know how crazy talented she is: drawing, baking, cooking…

If you know her you’d also know that she launched her small biz Crumbs and Crayons a few years ago after discovering her knack for illustrating. Through her journey she had a lot of questions none of us, her family, could answer. Business questions, copyright questions, legal questions, branding questions…

Enter Holly Conger. The greatest thing to happen to my mother since my father. Holly is a pretty big time illustrator herself having her drawings being sold to the likes of IKEA, WalMart, different magazines, etc. Holly, however, decided to finally take a maternity leave after constantly working since she had her children. She separated herself from her business and the social media world. When she came back, she offered a limited number of spots to those looking to bust into the illustrating game. Here, Holly would teach and guide each person in their own business and eventually promote them. And my momma got one of those spots.

For the last several weeks, my mom has learned how to brand herself, how to build a website, and how to get LinkedIn. Holly has helped my mom grow in places we couldn’t help her grow.

So, I invite you to visit my mom’s new site! Goodbye Crumbs and Crayons hello Charlotte Taylor Creates! Here you’ll find her portfolio, new illustrations, her blog, and her ever so famous Free Recipe Friday. Jason and I helped her put it together while she paid me in colored jeans. Hip hip hooray!
