Nobody Looks Good In A Graduation Cap

dress: c/o eShakti, heels: Target, earrings: H&M, ring: c/o InPink

Finally! I’m blogging about this dress! eShakti sent this to me last fall and I never had a fancy enough occasion to wear it to. Looks like graduation was the ticket. πŸ˜‰ The sizing of this dress is perfect. There’s a hidden zipper in the side and an elastic waistline. I will say that the sheer sleeves are too big for my liking. I’d much prefer it if they were more skin tight. I’m sure I can persuade my mom to fix that. πŸ˜› Oh! Did I mention there are pockets?! Perfect for hiding my lipgloss and phone in while I waltzed across the stage last Friday night. πŸ™‚

Wanna see a picture of me in my grad garb? Okay, fine. Here I am in all of my robed glory.

This jumping picture is a tradition when I graduate. This is the third in my series of jumping pictures. πŸ™‚ I was supporting End It Movement on my cap. I hope I spread at least some interest and curiosity!

Upside down. Nice. πŸ˜‰

Funny story about that robe. My friend Megan and I were backstage and I wondered why hers, which was the same size as mine, was so much smaller. We looked at the tags and I bought a plus size robe. That would explain why my hands and arms disappeared. πŸ˜› We had a good laugh the entire ceremony, but I still rocked it, right? Right.

I’ve begun applying for bid kid jobs and it’s kind of scary! I’ve applied for three so far, all secretary related. I’m thinking I’ll get a semi-easy job and save up some money while figuring out where God wants me for the musical part of my life. It’s scary and exciting at the same time! Wish me “luck”! πŸ˜›

Happy Tuesday!

*Thanks to eShakti for sending me this dress and allowing me to graduate in style. πŸ™‚

blouse: Old Navy, pants: Target, sandals: Old Navy, earrings: Target, glasses: thrifted

My sister affectionately refers to these pants as my grandma pants. Affectionately is the key word in that sentence I think. πŸ˜›

I graduated last Friday. πŸ™‚ A lot of emotions were happening that day. Gratitude, sadness, goodbyes, happiness that I get to go back in the fall, annoyed that I get to go back in the fall, :P. I got to sit next to one of my best friends while we graduated. We started out at the same junior college and graduated there together and finished out together. πŸ™‚ It was a blast! It made me want to go back for my masters. Maybe. πŸ™‚

My grad party was Saturday night and we played games and had Mexican food and margaritas and laughed and laughed. I’m going to miss my group of friends but I have a feeling it won’t be long before I see them again.

Seriously, thank you to everyone who had a hand in getting me to this point. I don’t think I ever thought I’d have a bachelor’s degree. I’m proud of myself and want to push myself even harder towards my career goals. Thank you!

Happy Monday! It’s summer for me! Better find a job. πŸ˜›

cardigan: AE, top: Old Navy, jeans: Target, shoes: Journey’s

This is a very typical outfit for me. Jeans, jeans jeans. πŸ™‚ Speaking of jeans, where are your favorite places to buy them? I like Target’s jeans but there doesn’t seem to be that much variety. Forever21’s are cheap but literally ALL they have are skinny jeans. Old Navy is alright but hard to fit and their sizes vary from color to color. It’s insane. HELP!

Look how big Pepper is! Her one year old birthday is next month. πŸ™‚ Can’t wait to make her a puppy cake!

Oh, and look. My bud Travis and I accidentally matched. Precious!

Happy Thursday! What are your plans for the rest of the week? Student appreciation week is still going on so I’ll be checking it out. What’s happening near you?

Any of you watch Daily Grace? My friend Kait and I do. So, Kait, this is for you.

Tomorrow’s Friday!

Masculine

vscocam624vscocam625vscocam626vscocam627

button-up: JCrew, shorts: sister’s closet, tights: Target, oxfords: Forever21, ring: jank

Felt a little masculine wearing this button up and oxfords yesterday. It was pretty warm out but the tights surprisingly didn’t add to it! I’ve never been good at dressing for this crazy Texas heat and each summer is a new challenge. I’m more prone to buy jackets and jeans than shorts and tanks. Guess this gives me a new reason to shop. πŸ˜‰

That last picture is what happens when your $1 flea market ring breaks at school. Broken jewelry will catch on. Watch.

How’s your week going? Bought anything good lately? I’d love to see!

I’m off to enjoy our Student Appreciation week. πŸ™‚ So far we’ve had a crawfish boil with a live band, The Bigsbys, where I splattered crawfish juice all over myself in the first five minutes, a blood-drive, 41 hours of fitness (didn’t participate :), and we’ll see what’s happening today!

Happy Wednesday!

School Daze

sweater: Target, dress: AE, tights: Target, boots: F21

Last Thursday I got out and did a bunch of errands in town. I got new tags for the car, went to the bank, and voted! (I didn’t get a sticker though. πŸ™ ) The auto department is downtown and I had a lot of time so I decided to get a little lost and ended up finding this old abandoned school and knew I wanted to come back and take pictures. It was freezing! And a little spooky looking inside and seeing empty chairs and rooms. By the way, I should add looking through dark glass doors to my irrational fears list.

Jason got off work several hours early Friday as a kind of reward for staying late the previous day for their fall carnival. So we headed out for a late lunch and drove around some more. I always find something new when I go downtown. Driving around for hours and taking pictures and experiencing that tiny downtown is on my to-do list before we high-tail it out of here. πŸ˜‰

Having a good Monday? Don’t worry! The weekend will be here before you know it πŸ™‚
